What Happened with me last night

It almost 6am as i was going to bed, so i thought i must listen some regular songs so that i get a good sleep.
I plugged in my custom made multi-pin [ idon’t what we call it exactly , its a single plug giving out lots of sockets ] .

guess what ??
aaaaa!! Opps!!! a
short circuit , sparks all around . both the tips of the wire melted and i was in shock [not the electric one] .
What you might be thinking ?
why one becomes so shocked on a short circuit ?
its not simple with me .
the real story starts now !!!
Have you heard of Virtual box . I was using that .
Any my laptop was on nearly low battery .I needed to plug in the adapter quickly , or if the system Would crash and the Vitual box also .Leaving my 48 hrs of hard work to no use.
Now was the game starting for me!!
I did not enjoy it playing !!
but I ‘ll enjoy narrating !!
Time was ticking down !!
“7 mins remaining” a window poped up from the battery-part of the tray[desktop] .
I had to think of something fast!!

Scenario : NOBODY in the lobby , nobody could have been there at this time , in Dec, yeh , its the vacation time ,is just some pending work that’s making me stay back. No room was occupied at that time.

so there was chance of help.
First thing i did was to look for the MCCB.
I found 2 . Its just what happens, if there was only one then it would have been easy for me ti think over with 5 mins remaining.

I traced the connection For the First one. Shit !!, it was going some where else so i am now searching for my switch with about 3* mins in hand.

there are about 3×8+4 =28 switches t o chose from .

Look at the logic that WE apply in real life

there were 4 Switches in RED color so i thought , its a high voltage something so leave it alone .

28-4 goes to 24 remaining .
3 sets of 8 switches in hand , working with just 2* minutes and 30 sec inhand .
i thought the best way would be tracing the origins of the Inputs to the Mccb .
all wires look alike one cannot guess that which has been connnected to which .
2mins to go

I had only 2* minute left , so i worked out that eachroom has two switches , so i got the point, i must have one port working , so i rushed to both the ports, guessing the one near the door should be checked first , so i picked up my Multimeter [its is also crippled but working properly ] sp i checked it , no supply!!

God save me . Please !!

praying to god i checked the next one. i go the point . Now , rather han connecting the supply to the battery , i went to the Mccb , such an idiot , some 45* sec to go and such an idiotic decision , I actually had something in my mind ,

i thought why not i mustcorret things completely .
I saw one of the switch was hanging in a differnt manner [ i had thought that it might have been broken in my previous visit ]
This tme i thought hat it might be my switch i tried to switch it on . but it was looking br oken ,i thought its my last hope , and terified by the “What would happen ?” i pressed it harded . and Finally it gave off !! .I mean the lights were on . I ran back like a flash and plugged in the power . so now I could take a sigh of relief , But i was quite happy that i could apply myself, in such situations ,somewhat radically .

AS I SAY ONE MUST CONCLUDE FROM WHATEVER HAPPENS IN LIFE :
Hence ,

CONCLUSION
I think that’s what Education Must Do , MAke you instinctive works look radical ,or say that PROGRAM these radical decision into your INSTINCTS.

!! !! I felt Educated !! !!

BSD vs Linux

The below link shows the difference between BSD and Linux , which in most case thought was the same , BUT IT’s not .Check this out Why is it Diffenent?

Why was BSD put together [made] ?

What’s the Default root password in Ubuntu as you install ?

There is a big Question what’s the root password , when you install ubuntu , as it never asks you about that.

the ans is that there is none but , without setting it you cannot login as root either. so just a simple command sudo yourself and change the password :

sudo passwd root

I was panicking that i have forgotten the password but it was all upto me ..

i think this is where i struggled for 10 mins to become root ..
thanks to all the forums who help us amatures learn!!

setting path variable in Gui Mode for Windows

The path is now managed by Windows 2000 / Windows XP and not the autoexec.bat or autoexec.nt files. To change the system environment variables, follow the below steps.

1. From the desktop, right-click My Computer and click Properties and then
if Vista go to the Advanced system settings on the left of the window
2.In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
3.In the Advanced section, click the Environment Variables button.
4.Finally, in the Environment Variables window (as shown below), highlight the Path variable in the Systems Variable section and click the Edit button. Add or modify the path lines with the paths you wish the computer to access.

NID Convocation 2009 Display,Ahmedabad

I had been to NID,Ahmedabad, this Saturday and Sunday [12th and 13th Dec 2009]. I was stunned by the creation of the students . Enormous amount of creative stuffs were Displayed ,i can’t say about others ,but i could never have completed seeing the exhibits. In this blog i will try to express what i felt about the event as an electronics engineering student , a not-so-art-loving person.
Guess What ? ” I would still suggest one to go for this event “.

What was so Special about it?
General perception about Design Exhibition is that , there will be some mosaic painting ,some modern art, some
sculptures which need someone to explain , some clothes and fabrics [which are mostly worn by models in the fashion shows].

This was Darkness , i will throw some light on what actually look for there and surely these are no the only things displayed there.

there are many categories under which the creations are displayed, Automobile design ,Product and packaging design ,media design ,computer interface and communication designs, business planning, and many more.

more on this coming soon..

What is the Difference Between Vcc, Vdd,Vss,Vee?

Common supply terms has been blurred by the interchangeable application of TTL and CMOS logic families

But, the Fact is ,

Vcc and Vee are the terms used for Transistors .
Vdd and Vss are the terms used for FET’s

And in terms of supply voltages :
Vcc and Vdd is for positive supply.
Vee and Vss is for negetive supply.

Apparently this terminology originated in some way from the terminals of each type (i.e., Vcc is often applied to BJT collectors, Vee to BJT emitters, Vdd to FET drains, and Vss to FET sources). This notation then carries across to integrated circuits — TTL ICs were originally based on BJT technology, and so often use the Vcc / Vee terminology;

CMOS ICs are based on FET technology, and so often use the Vdd / Vss terminology.

Switched Capacitor Filters

This a modern design for Filters used in the IC fabrication as they donot require “Resistors”.

Why Switched capacitor filters ?
Basically,
1) The problem with the resistors is that they take up a lot of room in the IC ,
2) Precision is enhanced ,as two capacitors are compared, hence the manufacturing errors are somewhat masked.
so this alternative has been taken up.

How does it work?
To understand how switched capacitor circuits work, consider the circuit shown with a capacitor connected to two switches and two different voltages.

circuit

Switched capacitor circuit

If S2 closes with S1 open, then S1 closes with switch S2 open, a charge (q is transferred from v2 to v1 with

If this switching process is repeated N times in a time (t, the amount of charge transferred per unit time is given by
.
Recognizing that the left hand side represents charge per unit time, or current, and the the number of cycles per unit time is the switching frequency (or clock frequency, fCLK) we can rewrite the equation as
.
Rearranging we get
,
which states that the switched capacitor is equivalent to a resistor. The value of this resistor decreases with increasing switching frequency or increasing capacitance, as either will increase the amount of charge transfered from v2 to v1 in a given time.

Where is it used ?
for the mean time, band-split filters and related applications
