Why Knowledgeable faculties are never available at any level in India?

In smaller colleges , they are not existent.
In avg colleges, they hold non-teaching positions.
In better colleges , they are busy attending conferences.

Why?

No body can aspire to teach,because it is not credible.
[cannot quantify quality of delivery]
No body wants to do something which is not credible, hence not evaluated.

What needs to be changed?

We need a system to quantify Teachers which is not based on the amount of research they have done [no of research papers] but based on their teaching [not just the experience] including attributes like communication skills. And most importantly, attract young intellect to this field by introducing provision for fast progress with little regard to ‘experience’ (which also counts).

Is it cool to be a patriot ? [+ Review on the R-day @ SVNIT]

Question of the day : Is it cool to be a patriot ?

This was the probably my last republic day in an educational institution.

Me being a act-according-to-situation guy. I was in great dilemma about whether to portrait myself as cynic as generally happens or as a patriot and praise my motherland .

Several things go through my mind thinking about it.

Is it kind-a cool to be a cynic and just deny any love to my nation?
One can talk about it the whole day so much to talk about, it has been so much in the news that I’ll not take the pain to put them here again. It is always kind-a exciting and just the kind-a adrenaline that rushes through (at least) my blood to criticize somebody or something.

It’s really a great dilemma . It’s always about being cool , being the talk of the college ,prestige blah blah blah.
As i was going through these thoughts .

The flag was hoisted .

Then a speech [i don’t know ,was it in Bengali?] by Mr Datta. [He was really in the ‘Dabang’ style . Black goggles, Police Inspector like uniform and a ‘danda’ too]

A speech From Mr Channiwala, really good one.
Msg : Need to file more patents from india , some stats that “America had some number of patents ( about a lakh ) , Chinese has even more, But india had just 28k something.” Awareness about filing patents has to be increased.

Cultural Stuff .

Bharatnatyam on Vande mataram. [ Donot mistake with the’ Vande Mataram ‘ sung by Lata Mangeshkar . It’s A.R.Rehman with his exotic music. Probably Vande Mataram was know for its words but this guy so talented … now its just about the Music. ].
Patriotic songs , well i know very few had closed their eyes to have ‘a feel’ of that, but it was kind-a good.[Oh, not me.]

Most interesting Part , A speech again, right from his introduction from the anchor , “an award from CM of Jharkhand”[ i could not here the rest]. I said this is awesome. This guy with a specs on , starts with a one liner from personalities, [actually there were too many in the whole speech], I really thought this might be the way Great leaders like Lal Bahadur shastri etc , influence the people despite of having a simple physical personality . it was awesome , I had heard such an provoking Speech after quite a while.  Many do well in schools but in this cut-throat-competition-of getting-into-college stops most from carrying on.
But it was the Food that matters the most. Most of you who did not attend to this event , It was vada and upma.[This just took away all the influence that guy had put on me.]

Warrior continues

After getting through with “warrior of light”.
i now required something which was more to the point and needed less

interpretation and related to me directly.
as the problem with the latter, wass that, it wanted teh reader to

interpret things o his own way and convenience. had given lot of

flexibility to interpret things in your world, i t was universal book.
I required some thing specific.

From the library i got a good lokking ,book , titled, secrets of mind

power., Author i had not heard about him , Harry Lorayne. in fact iknew

none of those kind of authors.It had a heading stating that “over 250,000

copies sold. well i had gathered my self , thinking that its the moment

of i would pick it up now , i might just read it , but if i try to find

some thing else i might never one.

It came to me in a rather proper time, i had ,as i had said before ,

tried to unlearn things, to make space for some new things.

It went on to be one of the best books as i was in agreement with it.

I will breif about it in my next blog.
Well some thing i have taken up after a log no, yoga. its facinating to

know that lot many people have actully taken up yoga in teh urban areas.

In my known world i see most of the adults of age 35-45 have taken this

up. And fat girls and boys have taken up. My reason for taking up was a

bit different. Its a ‘perverseness’ in cricket commentary terms

,consistancy.

Well i have been sleeping less aswell, andi want m self to adjust to

that, as i am preparing myself to work hard, by working hard.
only thing remains is the intelligent work preperation. Which i miss

upon.

there is a pattern given for the speeches by Dr. liefchild :
begin low, speak slow;
take fire, rise higher;
when most impressed,
be self-possessed;
at the end wax warm;
and sit down in a storm;

Warrior of Light

As i Promised , i will tell you about what i read this summer .

A book usually described as :
title : Manual of the Warrior of Light.
Author : World renouned , author of  ‘The Alchemist” ,Paulo coelho.
Its a translation in english from the book originally written in Portugese.

I actually pick it up becuase it looked nice and well bound, looked less used.
To add to it,not being a enormous reader, i felt nice about the fact that i knew the author.
I was loking something for soul feeding. The author mostly write about things which has relevence to the topic i desired to readfor the above mentioned purpose.

What’s in it ?
Exquisite style ,the book has one-liner on the left page and small discription of that on the right page. they are said to be the rules to be followed by the warrior of light.
Big question who is the ” Warrior of light” ?
Answer is simple , the prologue describe who can be called as a warrior of light.

read that book and find out if areyou the one.

is a unusual self help book , it helps you in the way that no one knows that its a self help book , and nobody will comment on it, as one fears from this fact the most.
so its a well disguised self help book.

I cherished every word of it.

I have few more to go. ‘One step at a time’ the book says a warrior of light must take.
I follow it .

After BAD Exams , What i did to Recover

I got my much anticipated and awaited result.

Donot go on the adjectives i have used, it was anticipated that it would not be good.
But i had nothing to react at , as i got 5.12. I am happy about it ,as it atleast adds upto to what i had aimed at in the worst case, EIGHT.

Its may be called as a descent recovery. i was not expecting myself to even pass through all subjects, but some favour,some emotions, some luck, just made it happen.

Afterall that I had stopped every thing i did , i mean other than essentials.
i set myself up for resalising nothingness.

First week after exams, i did literally nothing, worried about my future plans nad results. In the meantime, Rasika mam asked me to meet one day with all my plans this summer. Unfortunately, that day tshe MEt with an accident and i could not meet her.That day i got some clue.

Clue: Planning was what i was lacking.

Second week , i realised that i need to sort things out ie. find all the errors that i made.
to reach the state i am in , i mean to find all the state variables taht were responsible for that state.

I found I was terribly unorganised, that’s “MEssI”, [Opps wrong spelling means a lot].
I was using my brain to the extent possible to useless thoughts,because I had lost control
of my thoughts. Most importantly,I had no specific goal,rather the goals circled around my thoughts rather that than the thoughts aroungd the goal .

I realised i needed to read , required soem soul feeding [as it is often called].

If you are in ahmedbad, you might know about the famous library , M J library[ Maneklal Jethabhai pustakalaya ],near Gujrat college.My parents are member there it is a public library , maintained by AMC, nominal membership fee of 150/- for life time , i donot thing some one has to think about spending that much for a life time membership.

I had done Quiet a lot of reading since then.
I can brief them in my next blogs comming in few days.

Learn Thinking Differently

This is a small story about someone very famous in the field of Physics :

What Happened with me last night

It almost 6am as i was going to bed, so i thought i must listen some regular songs so that i get a good sleep.
I plugged in my custom made multi-pin [ idon’t what we call it exactly , its a single plug giving out lots of sockets ] .

guess what ??
aaaaa!! Opps!!! a
short circuit , sparks all around . both the tips of the wire melted and i was in shock [not the electric one] .
What you might be thinking ?
why one becomes so shocked on a short circuit ?
its not simple with me .
the real story starts now !!!
Have you heard of Virtual box . I was using that .
Any my laptop was on nearly low battery .I needed to plug in the adapter quickly , or if the system Would crash and the Vitual box also .Leaving my 48 hrs of hard work to no use.
Now was the game starting for me!!
I did not enjoy it playing !!
but I ‘ll enjoy narrating !!
Time was ticking down !!
“7 mins remaining” a window poped up from the battery-part of the tray[desktop] .
I had to think of something fast!!

Scenario : NOBODY in the lobby , nobody could have been there at this time , in Dec, yeh , its the vacation time ,is just some pending work that’s making me stay back. No room was occupied at that time.

so there was chance of help.
First thing i did was to look for the MCCB.
I found 2 . Its just what happens, if there was only one then it would have been easy for me ti think over with 5 mins remaining.

I traced the connection For the First one. Shit !!, it was going some where else so i am now searching for my switch with about 3* mins in hand.

there are about 3×8+4 =28 switches t o chose from .

Look at the logic that WE apply in real life

there were 4 Switches in RED color so i thought , its a high voltage something so leave it alone .

28-4 goes to 24 remaining .
3 sets of 8 switches in hand , working with just 2* minutes and 30 sec inhand .
i thought the best way would be tracing the origins of the Inputs to the Mccb .
all wires look alike one cannot guess that which has been connnected to which .
2mins to go

I had only 2* minute left , so i worked out that eachroom has two switches , so i got the point, i must have one port working , so i rushed to both the ports, guessing the one near the door should be checked first , so i picked up my Multimeter [its is also crippled but working properly ] sp i checked it , no supply!!

God save me . Please !!

praying to god i checked the next one. i go the point . Now , rather han connecting the supply to the battery , i went to the Mccb , such an idiot , some 45* sec to go and such an idiotic decision , I actually had something in my mind ,

i thought why not i mustcorret things completely .
I saw one of the switch was hanging in a differnt manner [ i had thought that it might have been broken in my previous visit ]
This tme i thought hat it might be my switch i tried to switch it on . but it was looking br oken ,i thought its my last hope , and terified by the “What would happen ?” i pressed it harded . and Finally it gave off !! .I mean the lights were on . I ran back like a flash and plugged in the power . so now I could take a sigh of relief , But i was quite happy that i could apply myself, in such situations ,somewhat radically .

AS I SAY ONE MUST CONCLUDE FROM WHATEVER HAPPENS IN LIFE :
Hence ,

CONCLUSION
I think that’s what Education Must Do , MAke you instinctive works look radical ,or say that PROGRAM these radical decision into your INSTINCTS.

!! !! I felt Educated !! !!

What’s the Default root password in Ubuntu as you install ?

There is a big Question what’s the root password , when you install ubuntu , as it never asks you about that.

the ans is that there is none but , without setting it you cannot login as root either. so just a simple command sudo yourself and change the password :

sudo passwd root

I was panicking that i have forgotten the password but it was all upto me ..

i think this is where i struggled for 10 mins to become root ..
thanks to all the forums who help us amatures learn!!

setting path variable in Gui Mode for Windows

The path is now managed by Windows 2000 / Windows XP and not the autoexec.bat or autoexec.nt files. To change the system environment variables, follow the below steps.

1. From the desktop, right-click My Computer and click Properties and then
if Vista go to the Advanced system settings on the left of the window
2.In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
3.In the Advanced section, click the Environment Variables button.
4.Finally, in the Environment Variables window (as shown below), highlight the Path variable in the Systems Variable section and click the Edit button. Add or modify the path lines with the paths you wish the computer to access.
